We've Gone Green....NOT

THANKS FOR READING!! IT makes me full of joy! Have a good day and check back with us soon!
....Nick and Em
THis is the front entrance to our building. They keep it super nice inside with a ton of flowers. I really do like it.

this is where I go to get my staples. It is only open morning and night..so, it suits us well. It gives me good practice with my Hindi b/c I only speak Hindi there and therefore I will never forget the vocab for the food I buy there...I thought it was a good idea anyhow. There are so many languages spoken in our city that never know what the people's first language is; so, I just speak what I know and hope that it translates to something. So far so good; only a few, okay a lot of awkward stares when they hear me try to speak Hindi.

This is our view as we walk along our road from the trash pit; the mountains. Each time I see the mountains I am reminded of God's majestic splendor and in awe that my home is at the foot of them.

I like to take my turn. Not sure why I thought I had to squat to get ready to throw over the basket!

And here it goes: the dumpage.

Jack fruit is what they say it is. I don't really know. It just looks like it could come alive any moment.

I am taking more pictures our in our neighborhood to share with you what it is like, looks like, etc. where we live. We live in a neighborhood off the beaten path and we love it. We can see the mountains from our house on clear days and there are tea gardens surrounding us. God knew my heart so much when he planted us in this city; I really do love it here! So, when we moved in we asked, "So, what do we do about all of our trash?" Our landlady said, "um...you just dump it where you find a spot; aka the ravine down the road. Haha, my standards for cleanliness, etc. has lowered so much since we've been here. As long as the trash is out of my house and it doesn't smell I do not bother too much as to where my trash is taken. I never realized how different my trash looks now that I've moved here. It is mainly food remains and dust piles, so....it can't be all that bad to dump right? Well, I guess my enviornmental ethics have moved down on my priority list.

Hey guys! Love your posts. It's neat to see what life looks like where you are.

1. I have to say: I can totally relate! Sometimes, I remind myself I'm recycling by reusing bags, jars, and other things but then I go outside and throw my trash in a trash on the street with everyone else! A couple of weeks ago we kept having to pass by this old guy and kid digging a massive hole and I kept asking J what he thought it was for-then, one day we saw them filling it with trash and then covering it back up. My standards here have definitely changed! I also stopped wearing antiperspirant and deodorant a couple of months ago...well, no one else does! I don't notice until it's been a while in the same clothes, I think it's helping my nose-I'm finally adjusting to everyone's smells after 4 months.

2. Something about the look of that jack fruit made me laugh really hard. Yikes!
