we were just so excited to be painted with so many colors, haha.

I had a little bit of powder in my mouth.

My husband. Words cannot express.

Everybody that was out on the roads were completely painted in silver. We heard that by doing this then all of the other colors would not stain their skin. I am not sure if this is why, but it sounds legitimate. Whatever the silver was for, it looked like a herd of statues walking around.

You can see all the colors of the rainbow on her, mainly pink! On the side of her face you can see where somebody got her with the dry powder!

When we saw people coming we would run to the water buckets and fill up our guns.

The day of Holi!! You can see the concrete is already containing a pink tone! It was wonderful. we wait on the edge of the balcony to prey on people below and then to pelt them with water!

We bought our packets of powder (these packets are for the dry powder that get smeared all of your face) Nick was quite stoked to be a part of this holidy.

Today was the all time event of India, Holi. It is a very hyped holiday here and it was wonderful to be a part of it. Some of our teammates and neighbors came over and helped us celebrate. In order to get ready for this day (Monday is what we were apart of) we had to buy packages of balloons, many packets of powdered color, and water guns. We spent quite a few hours filling up water balloons which were gone in the matter of minutes today and we resulted to water guns and throwing off buckets of colored water from our roof onto people walking/driving on the road. It is amazing that most of the things we do here would NEVER go over in the States, so...this is pretty awesome stuff here! We caused a motor bike with 3 people on it to tip over due to them swerving to avoid the water, we hit some cows/dogs with colored water balloons, and drenched our teammates in powder and water/color. It was truly a great time. We stayed on our roof to do all of this; women in general do not go out on this holiday due to wild behavior from a lot of men. We witnessed a lot of drunk people roaming around yelling for water to be thrown at them; they made it all the more interesting to say the least. To make note: From the am into lunch time people throw water mixed with colored powder (definitely stains the clothes and stains skin/nails/hair for a few days, then people go to homes of friends and smear colored powder all over the face in the afternoon time)
