Our first wedding

Oh, and this photo. My friend Megan took this. These are the women who dressed me; they were all speaking Nepali but I could understand things here and there. They kept talking about how tall I was and etc, etc. One even gave a charade type act as if she had to throw the fabric over my shoulder b/c I was so tall, so as if I were a giant! It was hilarious b/c they are such tiny people. I truly felt like a giant that day!
Okay. I am really ready to leave at this point! These weddings last on into the night, but not for me. KFC was calling my name for dinner!!
All of us in our sarees! I think we each took a good 30 minutes to get wrapped into our sarees! The women there had to dress us b/c none of us knew what we were doing. A saree is typically at least 5 meters long, which is a little more that 15 feet. So much fabric!!!!

This is Hanok, he is our househelper's husband. He is a little old man, and he is putting on nick's flower.
One of the happiest babies, and "thickest" babies I have ever held! He would just shake when he became excited.....hilarious!
My sweet friends, we all went together. This is Megan & Chokey. Megan lives down the road from me and she teaches the daughter of an American family here. She is my sanity a lot of times while living here!

Our wedding portrait, haha!
Above: Her name is Meneuka, the bride to be!

Well, it is wedding season here in South Asia!! We attended our first wedding this week. Our house helper's sister got married. They are all believers which is a blessing, but many Hindus came and heard the gospel preached during the ceremony! It was a great experience. I felt like a real Indian! I purchased my first sari, and bought the biggest, boldest earring I could find, actually curled my hair (wow...so much more of a process here it seems, I am not for sure why!) It was a great time. Enjoy the pictures!
