I never would have thought that monkeys would be a normal part of my everyday life...for sure. Somedays I see very few, and others they come out of the wood work. Yesterday they were EVERYWHERE!! I was walking home from the park and as I entered our gate there was a complete line of monkeys on our balcony..covering it. So, needless to say I bolted and didn't look up. I feel like such a baby sometimes and I panic really easy around these animals.
Hello,
We have kind of been in our own world since language class has started for us. Life here has been really good, challenging in its own way for sure. We have been in language for 2 weeks now and it has been an adventure in itself to say the least. We have a great teacher, Praise the Lord! I did not realize how much I had to figure our how I learned again. It is very easy to get overwhelmed for Nick and I, but we have to keep kingdom focused because there are days when in my mind I am thinking, "There has to be a purpose that You chose me to learn this language..." and that is about all that gets me through that session. The first few days I think were the hardest, but God is so incredibly good. We have been able to meet a lot of people and get contact information. People that spoke just enough English to where between our broken Hindi and their broken English we somewhat had an understandable conversation. Then, there are a TON of people that I try and practice my Hindi with & the stares that instantly make you feel stupid come on strong, haha! I quickly had to learn to not get offended and laugh about it. It is really precious to see the people get excited to practice with us b/c they are so happy that we are learning their heart language...and that is when I am overwhelmed with appreciation for the opportunity to learn this language.
